4th of July Weekend Readz

Although none of these books had anything to do with the 4th of July; I found myself reading these this past week/weekend.

The False Princess, EILIS O'NEAL

Princess and heir to the throne of Thorvaldor, Nalia has led a privileged life at court. But everything changes when she learns, just after her sixteenth birthday, that she is a false princess, a stand-in for the real Nalia, who has been hidden away for her protection. Cast out with little more than the clothes on her back, the girl now called Sinda must leave behind the city, her best friend, Kiernan, and the only life she’s ever known.
Sent to live with her only surviving relative, a cold, scornful woman with little patience for her newfound niece, Sinda proves inept at even the simplest tasks. Then she discovers that magic runs through her veins – long-suppressed, dangerous magic that she must learn to control – and she realizes that she will never learn to be just a simple village girl.
Sinda returns to the city to seek answers. Instead, she rediscovers the boy who refused to forsake her, and uncovers a secret that could change the course of Thorvaldor’s history, forever.

To tell you the truth I started reading this book with very low expectations. I thought I had the plot all figured out and that it wasn't going to be that interesting of a book, but like sometimes I was dead wrong!

Shimmer

Shimmer #2 , Alyson Noel

Having solved the matter of the Radiant Boy, Riley, Buttercup, and Bodhi are enjoying a well-deserved vacation. When Riley comes across a young ghost named Rebecca, Riley soon learns Rebecca's not at all what she sees. The daughter of a former plantation owner, she is furious about being murdered during a slave revolt in 1733. Mired in her own anger, Rebecca is keeping the ghosts who died along with her trapped in their worst memories. Can Riley help Rebecca without losing herself to her own nightmarish memories?

This is a really cute, and funny series that branches off from the Immortal series, and is about Ever's sister Riley, their dog Buttercup, and I can't tell you more cause I'll just end up telling you the whole story and that would spoil it for ya!

The Anti-Prom, Abby McDonald

Three unlikely allies team up for a night of rebellion, romance, and revenge…

They’ve spent years at the same high school without speaking a word to one another, but that’s all about to change.
Popular Bliss was having the perfect prom until she found her BFF and boyfriend making out in the back of a limo.
Bad girl Jolene wouldn’t be caught dead at the prom, yet here she is, trussed up in pink ruffles, risking her reputation for some guy.
And shy, studious, über-planner Meg never counted on her date’s standing her up and leaving her idling in the parking lot outside the prom.

What happens when three very different worlds collide? One unforgettable night. Get ready for The Anti-Prom!

This I think was by far my favorite that I read this past week/weekend. It was very different from what you'd think by the title, and cover. I enjoyed reading every little part and big part of it!
